Life at Yoga Plus starts early, at sunrise, with Astanga Vinyasa Yoga, Mysore-style, self-practice class. The Introductory class takes place a few hours later. After Yoga, brunch is laid out buffet-style. This usually consists of porridge and fruit followed by a choice of dishes including salads, savouries and cakes. Additional classes take place either mid and/or late afternoon; when Tai Chi is on offer it will be early morning and sunset to give you the opportunity to take part in at least one class a day; dinner is around 8pm, sometimes followed by dancing, depending on the time of year. Great emphasis is placed on the quality of the diet at Yoga Plus. Our experienced cooks create varied menus based on vegetarian, vegan and macrobiotic principles. The food we provide benefits from the health-giving properties of the Mediterranean diet, using local cold-pressed olive oil, seasonal vegetables and fruits, with wholegrains, pastas and legumes as a base. Meals offer a wide variety of choice. Local village wine is served with dinner. All of the water comes from a natural spring in the mountains and is drinkable straight from the tap. A word about the staff, who, with their dedication to both their Yoga practice and their work, help to create the special Yoga Plus holiday atmosphere along with a great sense of community. Many have gone on to become competent Yoga teachers in England, Europe, Australia and America. |
